An Egress Window ensures the safety of the occupants in your home. It allows for an easy exit in case of emergency or fire. Egress windows are installed in the lower level of your home. According to Ontario’s Building Code, Egress windows must ensure the following:
  • They open from the inside without the assistance of tools
  • They must stay open without added support
  • The opening must be 0.35 m².
  • The opening between the egress window and the window well must be 550 mm.
